Surfing British Virgin Islands
Notes from the field (pics below)
The main island in the BVI is Tortola, most of the known breaks are there but there are waves on the other islands too. It is on www.wannasurf.com and in one of the world stormrider guides if you want to check it. Season is Dec-Mar, I was lucky to get swell so late to be honest and even in the winter it can be flat for spells. It's a favourite destination for East Coast Americans who check the weather and then hop over on a flight when they see a swell, wasn't too crowded though.
Accomodation is pretty pricey. The villa we had in Apple Bay was $200 a night - I'm sure you could get cheaper but you'd have to hunt around a bit. It's pretty quiet and there's no advertising really.
Travelwise you have to get a flight from the UK to Antigua and get then get a hop over to Tortola. We paid £400 for the flight to Antigua, but a that was with a discount because a mate works for virgin. The local flights are around $100 a pop.
It's not cheap but the islands are amazing, really unspoilt and quiet. It's a big sailing destination as well and the snorkelling and diving are great.
