Surfing Ericeira, Portugal
Great place Ericeira, central to some beautiful towns, including Sintra, the Monestry at Mafra and, of course, bustling Lisbon.
The coastline is hilly, with many coves and bays.
The quaint little village of Ericeira is now almost hidden amongst typical Portuguese apartment blocks, but it is still there, as charming and as mellow as ever with its cobbled streets, tasty restaurants and laid back cafes.
There is a bustling market most days with an abundance of locally caught fish and local fruit and vegetables.
And the surf. It is a well known surf area and, as such, can get busy, but you can always find a wave with only a few others, if not to yourself. There are so many high quality, powerful reefs, points and super fun beach breaks, it’s amazing.
